Norway's Internet ad spending grows fivefold

OSLO - Sales of ads on Norwegian Internet sites surpassed the $10 million level in the first quarter of 2000, leading analysts to estimate that Internet-related advertising in Norway this year may exceed $50 million. By contrast, Internet ads in Norway brought in $2 million during the first quarter of 1999. Research organization Mediacom reports the increase is likely to show a continuing upward trend as more corporate advertisers include Internet strategies in their marketing budgets.
