Norwegian sells whale meat over Internet

Published on .

OSLO--Steinar Bastesen, Norway's leading pro-whaling protagonist, has started marketing minke whale meat on the Internet. He is offering worldwide deliveries of vacuum packed and frozen "whale beef" priced at $13 per kilo, excluding transport costs. Several years ago Mr. Bastesen attracted attention to his pro-whaling stance by wrapping himself in the Norwegian flag and being tied to a pole outside New York's World Trade Center during an international meeting on whaling.
