Novartis to sell 14 brands

Novartis Consumer Health, the newly combined Ciba-Geigy and Sandoz pharmaceutical company, put up for sale 14 of its smaller over-the-counter drug brands, including Allerest, Sinarest, Caldecort, Fiberall and Acutrim. All brand ad accounts were unassigned except Acutrim, which was supported by $1.7 million through October 1996 via Jordan, McGrath, Case & Taylor, New York.
