Nearly 19.6 million people in the U.S. are woodworkers, according to a study commissioned by American Woodworker magazine and conducted by NFO Research, Greenwich Conn. Of those, 17.2 million are amateurs while 2.4 million are professional. The stusy surveyed 6,075 woodworking households through questionnnaires mailed between March-May 1995. The margin of error is 2%.
