Maui Productions will take out ads in 10 newspapers across the country to promote its video of O.J. Simpson, said Tony Hoffman, president of the infomercial company. Mr. Hoffman has also been running 30-, 60- and 90-second TV spots in test markets on cable and broadcast stations giving an 800 number to order the tape, in which Mr. Simpson tells his side of the story.
"Sales of the video have far exceeded expectations," said Mr. Hoffman. "We'll definitely be making major media plans and buys within the next couple of weeks." Mr. Hoffman said that so far, the video is proving most popular among white females between the ages of 40 and 60.
