Ogilvy appoints interactive director in North Asia

OgilvyInteractive hired Andrew Knott in Hong Kong as regional director, North Asia, a new position, to develop the agency's business and extend OgilvyOne's customer relationship management into the online environment in Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan and South Korea.

Mr. Knott joins the WPP Group agency from WSAonline, a Web integration business in Australia, where he was national director, marketing & strategy, overseeing clients such as Citibank, IBM, Mitsubishi.

Previously he held a variety of marketing roles in Australia, Asia and the Middle East, such as regional marketing director for TNT Express, where he implemented the company's first Web site in 1996 with self-directed customer search functionality, including full consignment track and trace.

In Australia, Mr. Knott also worked at xt3 in Sydney and HotHouse, where his clients included E*Trade, Coca-Cola, McDonald's, i7 (Olympics.com.au), ACNielsen, Philips, Vodafone and Telstra.
