|Andy Berndt has been with Ogilvy since 1998.
Mr. Berndt, best known for crafting ads for IBM and Lenovo, takes on responsibilities previously handled by Bill Gray, who last year was promoted to co-CEO of Ogilvy North America. Mr. Gray's promotion was part of a reorganization that gave him and Carla Hendra oversight over not only the ad agency but also OgilvyOne and PR, healthcare and promotions shops.
Before signing on at Ogilvy in 1998, Mr. Berndt, 38, was worldwide account director on Apple at Omnicom Group's TBWA/Chiat/Day, Playa Del Rey, Calif.
Co-creative directors David Apicella and Chris Wall continue to oversee the New York creative group.
