The $1.6 million EON win follows a five-way pitch against FCB Worldwide, Bloomingdale, Fixgo, McCann-Erickson Worldwide and Bates Worldwide. The EON assignment includes corporate advertising and identity and product advertising for the Proton Iswara, Wira, Waja & Perdana V6 models, and interactive communications. New creative will be introduced in November. MindShare will handle media planning and buying.
The Pizza Hut win, meanwhile, "is a remarkable achievement," says Jeffery Seow, managing director of Ogilvy Advertising in Kuala Lumpur. "The Ogilvy Group had always been working with Tricon on the Kentucky Fried Chicken brand. The Pizza Hut brand, which is also managed by Tricon, has remained elusive to us till now."
Pizza Hut spent an estimated $1.3 million on advertising in past years and billings are expected to increase in 2000 with additional restaurant sites and new products.
