Oilers deal signed

Published on .

Houston Oilers owner Bud Adams, as expected, on Thursday signed a $292 million deal to move his team to Nashville, Tenn., in time for the 1998 season. The deal is contingent on Nashville officials meeting deadlines for selling suites and seats in a planned new stadium. Mr. Adams said he wants to leave Houston because the team can't get its own stadium there.
