Oldsmobile kills agency branding review

Published on .

General Motors Corp.'s Oldsmobile late this afternoon abruptly called off its review for a major divisional branding assignment. The review had pitted incumbent Leo Burnett USA, Chicago, against McCann-Erickson Worldwide, Troy, Mich., and Olds' African-American agency, E. Morris Communications, Chicago. The decision came three days after GM announced it was scrapping the Olds division over the next three years. Burnett will keep the account.
