Olivetti refocuses on ailing computer division

Olivetti said it will introduce 26 new computer models and a new family-oriented PC in seven European markets. Sales of company shares were suspended Sept. 8 after the announcement. The company's share price has dropped by about one-fifth in recent months. Olivetti's new multimedia PC, Envision, rolling out in seven European markets this month, is compatible with TVs, fax machines and answering machines, and it contains Microsoft Windows 95, a CD-ROM drive and a Pentium computer chip. Local agencies Teaser and Barbella Garliardi Saffirio will handle in Italy, and local agencies will handle in other markets.
