Omega back in Vogue

Published on .

SMH (U.K.) has reinstated its advertising with Conde Nast's Vogue after the intervention of Nicolas Hayek, chairman of the parent SMH company of Biel, Switzerland. Giles Rees, manager of SMH's Omega watch brand in the U.K., ordered the suspension of all Omega ads in Vogue last week after being "appalled" by the "skeletal appearance" of some of the models in a fashion feature in Vogue's June issue. He is believed to be concerned that young women who read Vogue may be encouraged to eat less and to develop anorexia.
