Omnicom '97 net jumps 26%

Omnicom Group, New York, said net income for 1997 increased 26% to $222.4 million from $176.3 million in 1996. For the year, Omnicom said worldwide revenue from commissions and fees was up 18% to $3.13 billion from $2.60 billion. Net income in the fourth quarter of 1997 increased 24% to $74.5 million from to $60.2 million a year ago. For the quarter, worldwide revenue from commissions and fees climbed 19% to $895.1 million from $751.8 million.
