Published on .

Omnicom Group said it has agreed to acquire St. Louis-based public relations agency Fleishman-Hillard, as expected. Omnicom plans to merge the agency with another one of its public relations groups, Porter Novelli, New York. The combined sales of this group is estimated to exceed $300 million in 1997 and create the largest global public relations group. Fleishman-Hillard is the world's sixth largest public relations firm, with clients including Anheuser-Busch Co. The branding and organization of the two agencies will be determined over the next several months.
