Omnicom net rises

Omnicom Group, New York, posted a 19% increase in net income and 20% increase in revenue for the fourth quarter of 2000, thanks in large part to the U.S. market. Net income rose to $142 million from $120 million in the same period in 1999 and revenue rose to $1.8 billion from $1.5 billion. U.S. revenues for the quarter rose 37% to $960 million from $701 million in 1999, but international revenues only rose 5% to $843 million from $802 million in 1999. Net income for the 12 months ended Dec. 31 rose 37% to $499 million from $363 million in 1999 and revenue rose 20% to $6.15 billion from $5.131 billion.
