Omnicom ponders indy media-buying unit

Omnicom Group is more likely to start an independent media buying unit than buy one and is leaning towards a plan to staff the unit with media personnel from Ketchum Advertising, insiders said (AA, Feb. 26). Arnold Semsky, exec VP-director of media and program services at Omnicom shop BBDO Worldwide, will likely be given the first shot at running the new unit.
