Online M.A.I.D. service to hotel rooms

Published on .

LONDON--M.A.I.D., the London-based online supplier of business information, and Thorn Business Communications agreed July 8 to provide hotel chains across Europe with in-room Internet services using TV sets.

By the end of the year, Thorn plans to have installed its communication service Guestlink in 100,000 hotel bedrooms worldwide spanning a number of hotel chains. Charges for the Internet service will be added to hotel guests' bills in the same fashion as pay-per-view TV is currently charged.

M.A.I.D. announced in May that it would supply its Profound Business Intelligence product to the Forte hotel chain's International Business Centers and Internet access in individual hotel bedrooms.
