Online Privacy Alliance supports Web sweep

Published on .

The Online Privacy Alliance, in an effort to encourage more e-commerce companies to post privacy policies on their sites, announced a Web ``sweep'' by Georgetown University Research Center that will update the 1998 FTC Online Privacy Study. Results of the privacy policy survey, conducted by Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, will be included in the Federal Trade Commission's next report to Congress on the state of online privacy. It will attempt to refresh the number of sites that have posted privacy policies online.
