Online shopping plateaus in July, retail index reports

Online shopping sales increased by less than 1% in July, to $4.03 billion from $4.01 billion in June, according to the latest NRF/Forrester Online Retail Index put together by the National Retail Federation, Forrester Research and Greenfield Online, an increase in line with overall summer retail trends. Office supplies experienced the greatest increase to nearly $150 million in July from $110 million in June. The NRF/Forrester Online Retail Index measures on a monthly basis the growth and seasonality of online shopping.
