Online shopping site awards Y&R pan-Euro business

PARIS--Internet group shopping site Clust.com has tapped Young & Rubicam, Paris, to handle its $12 million pan-European account, making it the third such site to choose a French agency in the past month.

Y&R won the account after a joint pitch with in-house Net specialist Impiric Interactive, Paris, formerly known as Brand Dialogue.

Clust.com chose Y&R after consulting with many of France's top Web agencies, including the Paris shops of DDB Interactive; Havas Advertising-owned Citycom, a branch of Euro RSCG Worldwide; Brands.org, a division of fellow Havas agency devarrieuvillaret; and Omnicom Group-owned FKGB/Tequila, a marketing services branch of BDDP.

Clust.com is a direct competitor of French online group shopping service Akabi.fr, which tapped dot-com specialist FCB Netbrand, Paris, to handle its estimated $9 million account in early-April, and rival online shopping service Letsbuyit.com, which earlier this year gave its account to CLM/ BBDO, Paris.
