Optimedia wins Tommy Hilfiger $10 million pan-European business

LONDON--Publicis' Optimedia has scooped Tommy Hilfiger's $10 million pan-European media planning and buying account as the fashion retailer gears up for a major European expansion drive.

The appointment follows a four-way pitch including Carat, the incumbent in Europe except for the U.K.; CIA Medianetwork, the U.K. incumbent; and Mediapolis. Optimedia's London agency will lead the business, which will cover the U.K., Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium.

The brief includes traditional media activities and the creation of events sponsorship.

Tommy Hilfiger's creative is handled by Deutsch in the U.S.
