Oracle, H-P to help PacTel

Published on .

Oracle and Hewlett-Packard announced they would deliver a scalable interactive TV system to Pacific Telesis. The agreement will place the Oracle Media Server and Oracle Media Net environment on the HP MediaStream Server video server. HP's video transfer engine technology will work with Oracle Media Net to allow interactive television providers to add capabilities to each video server and connect servers in a network as demand for interactive television services grows. The companies will begin delivering the system for video-on-demand deployment in San Jose, Calif., later this year.
