Orlando unfazed by Erin

Published on .

Officials of Orlando area theme parks reported no serious damage resulting from Tropical Storm Erin's passing near dawn Wednesday. Walt Disney World's 43-square-mile property suffered downed trees and a one-hour delay in opening. At Universal Studios Florida, also in Orlando, high winds delayed opening by two hours, and downed limbs littered the property. Both parks reported normal attendance, even though rain fell all day. Erin was expected to pass over Tampa later Wednesday. Busch Gardens and Adventure Island, two Tampa theme parks owned by Busch Entertainment Corp., closed for the day.
