Oscar watch--Chevrolet

General Motors Corp.'s Chevrolet division, Detroit, is running two sweepstakes tied to the Academy Awards. One is linked to ABC's March 26 broadcast of the Oscars, with entries available via Entertainment Weekly and People, and online at oscar.com and abc.com. The other promotion is part of GM's ongoing deal with Warner Bros. Entrants can win a Warner-branded Chevy Venture minivan by picking Oscar winners online at entertaindom.com. The sweepstakes also is promoted on Warner Web sites. Chevrolet, returning to the Oscars for the 17th consecutive year, bought six 30-second slots during the broadcast. Campbell-Ewald, Warren, Mich., handles Chevy. Separately at Chevrolet, Mary Wernette, 37, was named brand development manager. She comes to Chevy from sibling GM unit Saturn Corp., where she was director of product and business planning. Ms. Wernette succeeds George Hanley, who moved to e-GM, the carmaker's interactive arm.
