Oxygen expands online agreements with AOL

Published on .

Oxygen Media, an online and on-air network targeting women, has expanded its relationship with America Online through a multiyear anchor tenancy and promotional agreement. This new agreement will increase the visibility of Oxygen's online network of sites. Oxygen will anchor five AOL channels, including the Health and Entertainment channels; will have permanent placements and be extensively promoted in AOL's People Connection and AOL Hometown; will build a co-branded AOL/Oxygen Web site for women; and engage in offline cross-promotions.

In an unrelated AOL deal, the online service March 1 linked with RTS Wireless, a developer of wireless Internet software systems, to provide it with its Advantage suite of wireless data and text-to-voice software. The licensing agreement will help AOL provide wireless access to AOL e-mail and content over personal paging devices and digital mobile phones.
