CINCINNATI (AdAge.com) -- Procter & Gamble Co. is laying off 460 of 710 employees at the administrative offices of its recently acquired Clairol hair-care business.

The offices are located in Stamford, Conn., and house marketing and other administrative personnel, according to an executive familiar with the situation.

In addition, P&G is also cutting 165 jobs elsewhere in the U.S. and 815 overseas. At the same time, the marketer said it is adding 100 jobs to its Cincinnati headquarters and 285 to P&G offices elsewhere globally. Some Clairol employees may be eligible to get some of those jobs if they're willing to relocate.
