P&G, Microsoft eye promos via PCs

Microsoft Corp. and Procter & Gamble Co. are talking about using the Internet to send automatic periodic deliveries of P&G promotional screen savers and "wallpaper," the background on a PC screen, according to an executive familiar with the talks. P&G would use the Active Desktop feature in Microsoft's upcoming Internet Explorer 4.0 Web browser The has a feature that allows PC users to get periodic -- and automatic -- updates of selected content delivered to their PCs. Microsoft and P&G declined to comment.
