P&G ready to cut most VP-general managers

P&G will eliminate most of the positions at the VP-general manager level under its Organization 2005 reshuffling, with European managers bearing a disproportionate share of the cuts, according to several executives close to P&G. But P&G denied as "ludicrous and bizarre" a report from one source who said only six of 100 general managers now in the Europe, Middle East and Africa organization would have jobs at P&G after July. "It's inevitable with a change of this magnitude that there will be an impact on jobs," a P&G spokesman said.
