Overall, P&G had targeted 3,400 U.S. jobs for elimination, preferably through buyouts, from among 17,400 jobs the company projects it will trim in all areas globally. But employees have until the end of June to decide whether to take the buyouts, and not all applications have yet been tabulated, a P&G spokeswoman said.
P&G won't comment precisely on where job reductions are targeted, but executives close to the company say some market research and marketing director positions are among those likely to be eliminated. -- Jack Neff
