P&G's Lilly gets key Pillsbury post

Diageo's Pillsbury Co., Minneapolis, named John Lilly, 44, president of Pillsbury North America, its largest operating unit, succeeding Rick Lenny, who left in February to become president, Nabisco Biscuit Co. A longtime Procter & Gamble Co. executive, Mr. Lilly has extensive experience in food and beverage operations, including posts as P&G VP-general manager, U.S. juice products, general manager-olestra division, and advertising manager, U.S. cookies, baking mixes and salted snacks. Most recently, his concentration has been in Europe, first as regional VP-paper products, Europe, and then as regional VP for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. At Pillsbury North America, a $4.4 billion unit, Mr. Lilly will work with at least one agency from the P&G roster, Leo Burnett Co., Chicago. Also on Pillsbury's roster is Partners & Shevack, New York, and Foote, Cone & Belding, San Francisco.
