P&G's Simm is Omnicom media chief

Procter & Gamble Co. executive Daryl Simm, 36, joined Omnicom Group, New York, as CEO of its worldwide media operations and president of media network Optimum Media Direction. Paris-based OMD is the joint venture between Omnicom units BBDO Worldwide and DDB Needham Worldwide. Mr. Simm will be responsible for OMD's European and Asian operations as well as development of worldwide business. He previously was director of media and VP-general manager of P&G's programming business. No successor to Mr. Simm at P&G was immediately named.
