P&G tests pain-relieving heat pads

Procter & Gamble Co. is testing a new category with the launch of ThermaCare HeatWraps, disposable pain-relieving heat pads. ThermaCare, including versions for treatment of knee, neck, back and menstrual pain, is being tested in Eau Claire, Wis., and Midland, Texas, backed by TV and print ads by D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, New York. The pads, priced at $5.99 for a package of three, are designed to last up to eight hours.
