Pac Bell hits 100,000 Net users

Published on .

Pacific Bell has signed up more than 100,000 subscribers for its Internet access service since it launched about a year ago. The service offers direct billing of access charges on the monthly Pacific Bell phone bill, a feature that many other phone companies are still striving toward. The company plans to offer personal home pages later this year as well as nationwide roaming for subscribers who want to use the Net when they travel outside of California. Pacific Bell earlier this year was acquired by SBC Communications.
