New Yorkers will get their first look at the tongue-in-cheek "New York City?!" TV ad campaign for Pace salsa and picante sauces as San Antonio-based Pace Foods enters the New York market. The spots feature cowboy themes describing Pace sauces as "made in San Antonio, where people know what salsa should taste like," while poking fun at characters who try to substitute sauces made in "New York City," ending with the deadpan, "Get a rope!" Temerlin McClain, Dallas, is the agency. "We think New Yorkers will love our ads as much as they love our salsa," said Pace President Rod Sands. And in return, "Pace promises not to try to make New York-style cheesecake in Texas."
