Paramount Television Group has named David Wertheimer president of its Paramount Digital Entertainment business unit. Mr. Wertheimer will be responsible for fulfilling PDE's charter of producing original and promotional content for the Internet and online services. Mr. Wertheimer had been senior director of entertainment alliances at Oracle Corporation. Paramount formed the digital unit in July to create original content as well as promotional vehicles for advertisers. Projects in the works include an online site for Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. and three sites for the Microsoft Network built around "Star Trek," "Entertainment Tonight" and a third property.
