PBS, NBC to cover '96 conventions

Published on .

The Public Broadcasting Service and NBC will reprise their 1992 partnership to provide joint coverage of the 1996 Democratic and Republican conventions through a collaboration of NBC News and "The MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour." The approach to the 1996 coverage is expected to be similar to the 1992 partnership, which featured a joint PBS and NBC broadcast on PBS at 8 p.m. (ET), with alternating segments led by Jim Lehrer for PBS and Tom Brokaw for NBC.
