CMP Publications, Manhasset, N.Y., will soon announce a new consumer magazine called NetGuide, positioned as a TV Guide for the online universe. The magazine, likely to be published monthly, is due out this fall. It will carry paid advertising and expects significant support from the online services. NetGuide will list and review an estimated 12,000 online offerings from various services. Separately, CMP is putting its HomePC on America Online.

NewLeaf Entertainment Corp. this week is expected to announce an agreement with at least one videogame marketer to test NewLeaf's on-demand information delivery system. NewLeaf, a joint venture between Blockbuster Entertainment Corp. and IBM Corp., allows immediate delivery of videogames and music products via in-store kiosks. A test could start by late summer.

Arthur A. Bushkin last week said he would leave as president of Bell Atlantic Video Services Co. Frank Pereira, formerly group VP-marketing at Jones Intercable, will replace him. Robert Townsend, VP-programming and marketing, will oversee marketing of the Stargazer interactive service as acting president of interactive multimedia services.

Tele-Communications Inc. and its Liberty Media Corp. programming arm are delving into educational interactive media. TCI will team with IT Network to deliver educational interactive TV programming to about 300 Denver homes this fall. Liberty, meanwhile, signed a letter of intent with Reuters NewMedia to form a venture called Ingenius that will deliver daily interactive multimedia services to homes and classrooms.

Courtroom Television Network is developing Back Channel, an interactive network that will offer viewers information, legal data and quizzes. Zing Systems will be an early test site, and distribution is planned through interactive TV systems from Time Warner, Nynex, Bell Atlantic and GTE, as well as through online services.

Multimedia developer Contentware will offer catalogs over the Internet starting June 30. ... Teresa M. Crummett to VP-direct marketing, a new post at Interactive Network, Sunnyvale, Calif., from director of marketing and new-product development at Disney Direct Response Publishing.
