'PC World' subs pass 1 million

International Data Group's PC World, San Francisco, said it has passed the 1 million mark in paid subscribers. The monthly reported an average 1,000,453 subscribers for the six months ended Dec. 31, according to Audit Bureau of Circulations Fas-Fax data released by the magazine. PC World reached the milestone one year after its larger rival, Ziff-Davis' 22-issues-a-year PC Magazine, passed 1 million in subscriptions. New York-based PC Magazine remains ahead; for the six months ended Dec. 31, Ziff-Davis said PC Magazine's paid subscriptions reached 1,040,900, up 2% from a year earlier.
