Peapod delivers service in Ohio

Peapod LP, Evanston, Ill., began providing online grocery service through Kroger grocery stores in Columbus, Ohio, last week. Subscribers pay $6.95 per month; delivery costs $4.95 per order with an additional 5% charge on the total grocery bill. The service operates with other grocery store partners in Chicago, Boston and San Francisco. Peapod is owned in part by Ameritech Corp. and Tribune Co.
