Peapod hits Ohio

Published on .

Peapod, Kroger Co. and Dispatch Interactive Television have joined forces to bring Peapod's online grocery shopping and delivery service to Columbus, Ohio, by September. Kroger will offer customers the opportunity to shop from the entire 20,000-item selection of its stores, using Peapod's software. Dispatch has secured rights to offer the Kroger-Peapod service via its interactive TV network and will provide consumer marketing support through Dispatch-affiliated media properties.

Peapod already has alliances with Jewel Food Stores in Chicago and Safeway in San Francisco. Peapod, which handles advertising in-house, will launch radio and print advertising to support its entry into Columbus.
