Peapod kicks off Internet marketing program

Online grocery service Peapod, Skokie, Ill., introduced a marketing program called the Internet Traffic Exchange Program. Peapod will co-brand promotions through its site, targeting promotions to match shoppers' interests. For instance, when a user is finished shopping on Peapod, a selection of suggested partner sites will appear that are targeted to the users' demographic and psychographic profiles. The partnering sites will be featured on a page with brand logo and description of the site. Peapod said it expects to form alliances with compatible sites within the next six months.
