Most Workers Affected Were on Dodge Account

DETROIT (AdAge.com) -- Staff cuts hit Omnicom Group's PentaMark Worldwide, Troy, Mich., but affected less than 3% of its 1,750 workers, a spokeswoman said.

An executive close to the matter said most were ex- BBDO Worlwide staffers who worked on Chrysler Group's Dodge account. A PentaMark spokeswoman had no comment.

consolidated global creative and media accounts last fall. The business had been with True North Communications and FCB Worldwide, Southfield, Mich.

Mike Vogel, chairman-CEO of PentaMark, was unavailable for comment at deadline.

The agency's top two car account chiefs, executive vice presidents Tom Krehbiel and John Hammond switch places: Mr. Krehbiel now heads the Dodge account; Mr. Hammond has Chrysler and Jeep.

Separately, the agency's unit PentaCom, the automaker's Troy-based dedicated media buying and planning unit, will be folded under an unnamed Omnicom media shop, with top responsibilites handled from New York.

The Pentamark spokeswoman declined to comment.
