He will continue to hold his current post as president of the Book-of-the Month Club, another subsidiary of Time Warner. He succeeds John M. Fahey, Jr., 43, who is leaving the company to explore career opportunities in the Washington, D.C., area, according to a statement from the company.

Armand Arel to international bureau chief of the Florida Division of Tourism, Tallahassee, from VP-marketing of Kiwi Airlines. He replaces Charles Wright, who left to become executive director-CEO of the Tallahassee/Leon County Convention & Visitors Bureau. Mr. Wright replaced Chris Thompson, who left to form his own Tallahassee-based marketing consultancy.

Mark McDermott to director of the Arizona Office of Tourism, Phoenix, from VP-advertising with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. He replaces Greg Gilstrap, who left to become a partner with Phoenix-based tourism and real estate research firm Young, Warnick & Cunningham.
