Golf Digest, flagship of The New York Times sports/leisure magazines, named Peter Griffin as VP-ad director, replacing Jack Grant, who is leaving the company. Mr. Griffin was most recently publisher of another NYT-owned magazine, Snow Country.

Wells Rich Greene BDDP, Chicago, promoted Dick Salyer, 46, to president from senior VP-national account director. He replaces Larry Singer, who resigned last month.

Ed Goldman to VP-CBS AM stations from VP-general manager, WBZ-AM, and VP-station manager, WBZ-TV, both Boston.

Neal Vitale, most recently VP and general manager of Variety Inc., a unit of Cahners Publishing, was formally installed as head of the new Cahners Entertainment Group, based in Los Angeles, which will now include the Variety properties and Broadcasting & Cable. The reorganization came about following the sale of the Cahners consumer magazines to K-III Communications.

The Network Connection, Atlanta, named Del Maners VP-marketing for its in-flight entertainment product, Airview. He was formerly VP-sales for Burnes Aerospace-West.
