James Eckl to VP-electronic commerce, a new post at Kmart Corp., Troy, Mich., from director of marketing and sales, Kmart Solutions.
Charlie Claggett, chief creative officer and co-managing director of D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, St. Louis, is leaving the agency to open his own creative consultancy and write a book. Mr. Claggett's creative responsibilities will be taken over by Ron Crooks, currently senior VP-group creative director on M&M/Mars. Gary Singer will continue as managing director.
Newly installed GQ Publisher Tom Florio appointed several new members to his staff: Richard Skeen to advertising director, from The New Yorker, where he has been ad director since 1997; Jeff Grief to GQ fashion director, from advertising manager at Conde Nast Traveler; Eric Karp, to GQ marketing manager, from marketing manager, Conde Nast Traveler; Suzanne Friedman to multimedia marketing manager, from marketing manager, Conde Nast Traveler; and Brett Fahlgren to fashion merchandising manager, from marketing and visual coordinator at Calvin Klein.
