William F. Reilly, one of the founding partners of Primedia, New York, will retire from the company later this year to pursue private investment opportunities. Mr. Reilly agreed to remain chairman-CEO until a successor is named. Primedia has $1.5 billion in sales from media businesses, including New York Magazine, Modern Bride, Seventeen and Channel One.

Mark Shapiro, 48, to chairman-CEO, Momentum North America, a new post at Momentum Worldwide, New York, from CEO, Louis London, St. Louis. Momentum acquired the sales promotion agency in 1997, and it now is being renamed Momentum-St. Louis, and a new management structure is being adopted by Momentum North America. Momentum North America has billings topping $200 million. Momentum Worldwide, part of McCann-Erickson WorldGroup, specializes in promotional and event marketing.
