British Airways marketing executive Derek Dear is believed to be leaving the airline as part of a management reshuffle. Mr. Dear, who oversees ad strategy as general manager of BA Marketing Services, is a longtime staffer of the airline. He wasn't available for comment, and a BA spokeswoman refused to comment. It's confirmed, however, that Chris Holt, another senior marketing executive, is leaving after 11 years at BA. A BA statement said "it was [Mr. Holt's] decision to go.'' It is widely understood that the departure of the two marketing executives is part of a recent management reshuffling that led to the appointment of Carl Michel, the former Deutsche BA chief, to head the carrier's new commercial group, with added responsibilities for marketing among other sectors.
