Matthew Tucker has been named director of Internet sales and marketing for Reed Elsevier's Entertainment, Communications & Media division, New York, from director of online development, Reed Elsevier's Cahners Business Newspapers Group, New York.

Christopher Wuhrer has been appointed director of media planning and online marketing, Magnet Interactive Communications, Washington, from advertising manager, Intuit, Alexandria, Va.

BarnesandNoble.com named Jeff Killeen to chief operating officer. Mr. Killeen was most recently president-CEO of Pacific Bell Interactive Media, where he built At Hand business directory and shopping service Web site. Mr. Killeen will be responsible for the growing e-commerce business at BarnesandNoble.com.

Think New Ideas, New York, named Brian Martin to creative director. Mr. Martin was formerly creative head of the Microsoft Network. He will be responsible for the creative vision of the company's New York office.

New York interactive agency Poppe Tyson appointed Brad Winney president and Tom Wharton chief operating officer and chief financial officer. Mr. Winney adds president to his duties as interim president of Poppe software spinoff Neterra. Mr. Wharton, former Poppe president, is filling a new position as chief operating officer. The chief financial officer post was formerly held by Steve Blondy, who has left the company to pursue other interests.

Andrew Batkin, chairman, Softbank Interactive Marketing Group, El Segundo, Calif., is leaving to start an interactive ad agency. Softbank was acquired Dec. 31 by interactive marketing company Zulu-tek and its chairman, Ronald Meatchem, will succeed Batkin as chairman.
