BEVERLY HILLS, CALIF.: The Los Angeles advertising community turned out for a benefit at the Beverly Hills Hotel sponsored by Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine. CHICAGO: The Chicago Magazine Association kicked off its 1998 season with a reception for advertising folk at the Westin River North Hotel. Taking part in the festivities were (l. to r.): Gary Wenstrup, Midwest manager, TV Guide, and president of CMA; Renetta McCann, senior VP-media director at Leo Burnett Co.'s new independent media unit Starcom, and speaker at the reception; and Denise Paull, Midwest manager, Traditional Home, and VP of CMA.
