PeopleLink inks distribution deal with Web sites and ISPs

PeopleLink, an Internet company that makes a private chat application, locked up several partnerships Wednesday with Web sites and Internet service providers. They include search engine AltaVista, ChoiceMall/Guthy-Renker Online, CitySearch, Concentric Network, EarthLink Network, Four11, idealab!, NETCOM, SmartGames, The-Park and Well Engaged.

Under the deal, the Web sites and ISPs will offer free, customized versions of PeopleLink, a downloadable software that allows for private chat with people selected by users.
